We have a thriving adult membership with over 325 members whose caliber of play ranges from beginner/recreational to nationally-ranked competitive.
Four Month Introductory and Full Year Adult Memberships provide access to the badminton courts and pickleball courts on any day when we have open supervised hours that are not designated as Junior time:
Prime Time Open Play: Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings 7:00 – 10:00 pm. Drop in for doubles games.
All Ages Open Play: Mondays 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm; Sundays 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (2:00 pm for June, July and August). Drop in for doubles games; also a great time for family play.
Sundays 7:00 – 10:00 pm-Key Holders Only. Drop in for doubles games (4 courts) or singles games (two courts).
Adult Doubles Ladder: Thursday evenings 7:30 – 10:00 pm. Participants are put into games with other players of similar ability. Arrive at the club prior to 7:15 pm to register, then play a round robin with four or five other players; the top scoring player in each group will move up the ladder for the next week and the lowest scoring player moves down. Open play for singles (two courts) and doubles games (four courts) is available following completion of ladder games.
Organized Adult Play : Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9:00 – 11:00 am. Groups are made up of mixed skill levels.
Pickleball: Run by the Kitchener-Waterloo Pickleball Association (KWPA) Monday-Friday afternoons 11:30 am – 3:00 pm, and Saturday evenings 7:30 – 10:30 pm. Volunteering: The club is member run, including a volunteer Board of Directors. We ask each adult member to contribute a minimum 3.5 hours of their time a year to the club (1.5 hours for Introductory members).
Access Keys: Keys are available for purchase to adult members who are in good standing for 12 month (yearly memberships only) to allow entry at other times when the door is locked (virtually 7:00 am – 10:00 pm any day).
Court Use: There are no court fees, nor a requirement to reserve court time, however, when we are busy, the courts are restricted at most times to Doubles play only for 25 minutes at a time.
Shuttlecocks are available for sale individually and by the tube. The cost of shuttles is generally split among the four players in a match. Most members playing in the evening use feather birds; nylon shuttlecocks are generally used during Organized Adult Play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and for Junior Lessons.
Tournament fees are extra, unless it is a members-only event. Parking is free, although on tournament weekends when outside players enter the club, we encourage the use of the pay-parking lot across the street for overflow.
